 THE OPPORTUNITY

Our legal team provides support across SymphonyAI Retail | CPG operations globally, advising on a range of commercial legal issues with a primary focus on B2B commercial software (SaaS and perpetual) licenses, implementation services, and maintenance agreements.

As Senior Legal Counsel, you will have the opportunity to broaden the scope of engagement to cover data protection, IP, and competition law.

In this role, you will work closely with the company’s sales account executives, executive heads of function, finance team, customer/vendor counsel, general counsel, other senior legal counsels (outside and/or in house) and a senior paralegal. You will report directly to the General Counsel and will be located in the UK or Europe*. 

THE ROLE

As Senior Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for:

• Providing legal advice and assisting with the drafting and negotiation of a range of agreements including software license and maintenance agreements, SaaS agreements, services agreements, distribution agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and letters of intent.

• Partnering with the business to advise on IP issues, Data Protection, general commercial issues, and legal operations.

• Managing cross-functional processes and services and supporting international corporate environments.

• Supporting commercial and business issues, but not employment law or regulatory compliance.

 

WHAT WILL YOU BRING TO THE ROLE?

We are seeking an enthusiastic and energetic Senior Legal Counsel with c.5-7 years' PQE in business law with particular focus on B2B SaaS and software license contracts.

You must be qualified to practice as Legal Counsel in a relevant jurisdiction and be fluent in English and French, with the ability to negotiate and draft in those languages. German would be a great plus.

In addition to bringing your legal expertise, we are looking for someone with experience in:

• Working in international corporate environments

• Providing legal support for cross-border commercial transactions

• Drafting, reviewing, and successfully negotiating B2B SaaS and software licensing contracts

• Providing commercial and legal advice within a business environment

• Partnering with sales account executives and sales operations teams

• Working in the software industry or other technology sector

You must have excellent research skills, be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize workload effectively.
